A cricket chase is target plus remaining time

A chase has a target, runs still needed and legal balls remaining. Divide the runs needed by the remaining overs to find the current required rate. For example, 54 runs from 36 balls means six overs remain, or nine runs per over. That is the required pace at this moment, not a forecast of the final score.

Format changes the time available. T20 allows up to 20 overs per side; a one-day international generally allows 50. Compare a score only after identifying the format, innings and match state. A first-innings total is not the same kind of number as runs still required in a chase.

Esports: map result versus series result

A series format determines how many wins settle a match. In a map-based best-of-three example, two map wins decide the series. At 1–1, one map remains. In best-of-five, three map wins are needed. Thus a map score is a component of the series, not necessarily its outcome.

For an intelligible result, keep the game title, tournament, teams, date and format together. JT999 names multiple esports, from CS:GO and Valorant to PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends; those names do not identify a particular fixture or live score. Map-based win counts do not describe every esport: battle-royale competitions, for example, need their own placement and scoring rules.

Football, tennis and MMA count different things

Football records goals within the period defined for the match. Tennis uses points to form games and games to form sets; the match winner depends on the competition format. MMA results belong to a bout and its rules. A displayed 2–1 is therefore unclear until its unit—goals, sets, rounds or another measure—is stated.

JT999 also lists broad casino types. Slots, live casino, crash, fishing, arcade and table games each use their own round rules. Reading the specific round structure is more useful than assuming that one category’s scoring logic applies to another.
